How to apply

In 2010 the Bosdet Foundation Charity Sub Group will distribute £200,000 to on Island causes be they groups, educational support, or compassionate cases.

The Charity Sub Group will meet in late September 2010 with a closing date for applications of 15th September and again at the end of March 2011 with a closing date of the 15th March 2011.

The Charity Sub Group considers applications from local charities that benefit people on Island. We are not permitted under our Artilces to support off Island causes.

Local help includes our more elderedly members of the community, the young, disadvantaged and any other groups that the members feel are worthy of support. The group should ideally be a registered Jersey Charity with a clear remit and accounts.

Student loans are also considered. These are mainly for 1st Degree or trade specific qualifications with repayment made once the student is in full time work interest free over a number of years. The Foundation will only pay the course fees direct to the college.

In a few cases members have supported a number of disadvantaged talented sports people. These would normally be via their sports club.

The Foundation rarely supports directly individual needy cases as it just does not have the resources to assess the need. It would rather deal via a local end user charity.

If you know an individual or group who may be eligible for support please email barbara@lesormes.je with as much information as possible including the amount sought and what difference this donation will make.

Do not hesitate to get in touch with myself to seek clarification.
